johan – High in the Woods

RHYE producer Robin Hannibal teams up with Boston newbie johan on this brand new release. ‘High in the Woods’ draws inspiration from literally just that – running riot on a Tuesday night…in the woods. Speaking on the inspiration for the track, johan states “There’s a strange suburban magic that comes out in the rarest of hours, when you sneak around the woods at 1am on a Tuesday with your crew, while everyone’s parents are asleep.” It makes for an enticing track that sinfully encourages the emergence of one’s darker side. Two Another -Keeping Me Under

The anonymous Londoners’ are back with their second track ‘Keeping Me Under’ which fails to deter you from pressing that replay button over and over again. Smooth, easy, addictive pop funk – that genre that’s indescribably euphoric. Whilst they maintain to keep their identity under wraps, their music is definitely making waves. Listen below:

Owen Rabbit – Denny’s

Owen Rabbit Denny's

The Melbourne based artist Owen Rabbit drops his new release ‘Denny’s’ today which follows up his breakthrough track ‘Holy Holy’. His songs are experimental and confident, traveling to dimensions and tones you are least expecting. Denny’s’ chorus is painfully passionate, addictive and unsuspecting. Make sure you listen below. Nice work Owen!

Still Weeks – Lungs

The fact that this mysterious outfit from Newcastle has coined the phrase ‘bizarre’n’b’ to describe their music is just great. Seeing as it doesn’t mean anything you can’t technically disagree.

Whilst their alternative intensions of their debut track ‘Lungs’ still shine through there’s no denying the fact that it’s just a pretty tidy pop song. Listen below:

Emmecosta – Snowboy

Snowboy, the new track from Emmecosta emulates that post-club/nordic coolness that is both calming and intriguing. The trio comprises of Claudio Pallone, Alfonso Fusco, and Aldo Axh. Both Claudio and Alfonso are from Positano and spent their younger years playing music together whilst Aldo on the other hand is from Milan and came to Sweden to study, it was in Gothenburg that their musical union flourished. Snowboy’s percussive clapping and rustic sax bodes similarities to others like Bon Iver or Chet Faker. Emmecosta’s forthcoming EP ‘Untied’ will be out shortly – we highly recommend you keep and eye out!
