Chilled Out Collective

Today’s post is more of a remedy. An antidote to those mid week blues; an aid to chill you out and get you through to the weekend. We’ve put together a Wednesday Chilled Out Collective playlist for you to wrap those eager ears around.

Tom Misch – “On my Mind

At the moment it seems that Tom Misch can do no wrong and his recent release ‘On My Mind’ follows suit. Having collaborated with the likes of Loyle Carner, Misch is currently working on an EP with Carmody. The 19 year old employs velvet vocals and tantalisingly chilled production to demonstrate a taste what is to come from this talented jazz guitarist, singer songwriter and producer.

Ánders – “You Didn’t Need My Love

In the lead up to his forthcoming EP release, the London-based Swiss/Australian singer/songwriter Ánders has kindly dropped a tasty little track to keep us all excited. The dark, brooding, pulsing bass line beautifully balances Ánders’ graceful slip into the falsetto chorus with a punchy guitar riff to top it off.

Palace – “I Want What You Got

Beatnik’s exciting new project Palace have seen ridiculously good feedback which has led them to sell out their first shows after only dropping two tracks on Soundcloud. Their latest release ‘I Want What You Got” embodies all their brooding rock rhythms and wide set vocals reminiscent of the early Kings of Leon days. Definitely ones to watch.

Cristobal and The Sea – ‘My Love (Ay Ay Ay)

The band who describes their music genre as ‘Tropicalia Pop’ are to release their EP on City Slang with whom they have recently signed. Their track ‘My Love (Ay Ay Ay)’ boldly and beautifully encompasses all their European roots and Bossanova, jazz flute and gospel folk influences to create an intriguing and impressive experimental soundscape that does nothing but please!
